These are a few of the preferred ways to pick up rabbits. There are other ways as well; all have their advantages and disadvantages. Use the method to pick your rabbit up that causes them the least stress. I want to emphasize that rabbits often do NOT like to be picked up and they will put up a heck of a fight to get down. Lilly is an exception (and great for demonstrating for this video). When you first start handing them, move slowly and do not lift them high up initially as they will surely try to wiggle and kick their way out of your arms. Do NOT let younger children hold rabbits unless 1) the rabbit is tame and used to being picked up my other people and 2) the child is mature enough to understand the need to be gentle and the correct way to hold the rabbit. Use a towel under the rabbit initially to avoid getting your arms and chest scratched.
