  • Brings back memories of Rick's American Cafe in Ann Arbor in the mid 80s. No wonder I got very little done in college.

  • Seen Duke every chance I get. Six times and counting...

  • @bluzdudemi

sounds like 'messin with the kid'. Not sure the orig writer/performer but the blues brothers did it.

  • Anyone know the name of this song?

  • Duke & the All*Star Frogs were regulars at the Church Key in Madison, WI back in the late 1970s. That group had a blues harmonica player that was fabulous. The band was five excellent musicians including drummer Gary Brewer mentioned in anothe post. Between Duke's entertaining and welcoming presence on stage and the outstanding playing/singing of all, they were not to be missed. I saw them say 8 times during 1977-79. I still have the Red Pepper Hot LP in my collection.

  • Saw The Duke play Kingston Mines in chi town...that guy can put on a real show

  • Just saw Duke playing at Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg Indiana. Great music.

  • @dlnich

I just read about Duke in a newspaper that ran a story about a Des Moines blues bar where he's been a regular closing its doors. I had no idea he was still performing. I also used to love getting a bit wild at Gabe's in Iowa CIty (I still live in that area) listening and dancing to the great music he performed with his All Star Frogs.
