In the UK, sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16 is a crime punishable by imprisonment.
As a minor, the girl is not sent to prison.
While serving their sentence, the offender can expect extreme persecution by the other inmates. Once released from prison the offender is placed on a sex offenders register to track their wherabouts in the hopes of protecting other children. They are generally regarded as the one of the lowest forms of life by most people in this country.
