In 1973 I was at a Pizza Parlor in Houston, TX that had a big bar and stage and the guy on stage was Steve Martin. Banjo and stand up.

The "short guy with the goofy hair," the guy on the right, is Earl Scruggs. He INVENTED this style of picking--called "Scruggs style." He wrote this tune--a variation from "Blue Grass Breakdown." He is the banjo player to whom all other banjo players, before and since, will be compared.
