  • When running a program like this for the first time. Do you stay with the machine all the time and hope it doesnt crash? Given the fact that it prolly takes XX-hours to make the piece - or do you just go home and wait?

Ive never tryed using a computer to do the programming for me, everything I run for the first time is on singleblock :) But i guess that could take a while with this particular piece :)

  • @SPUNKKK

Any surface machining can easily take hours, you got to be able to walk away. I usually watch first few moves, that will catch any setup errors, the rest has to depend on the reliability of your CAM and POST.

  • what material is that

  • It is Ren-shape borad, mostly for modeling and prototyping.

  • awesome!!!

  • When i was a teen i could get way more then 24,000 RPM out of my hand every so often. I'm old and married now so things have slowed way down, hahaha.

  • How long did it take?

  • would love to see your mcx file on this. i have x3 at work, and x5 at home, to use on the hurco vmx42 w/rotary 4th axis. I have the 3d dxf of a hand similar to this, but programming it would be mind boggling for me the first time. the mcx file would show me how you done it and help me learn more about 3d rotary sculpting...... thanks for the vid!
