The great and unfortunately forgotten Mildred Bailey. Although I love Billie Holiday very much, Mildred is even better. She has a warm, flexible voice that can sing anything. Imagine if Billie and Mildred had recorded together. They would have done great things. I added a little echo to this because I wanted some reason to post Mildred that was different, but you should seriously consider buying some of her original recordings. She is always great. She also gave Bing Crosby his first chance because her brother was the other half of their vaudeville team. By the way, this song is a vocal version of the final song in "Grey Gardens".

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • I read how Mel Torme considered her one of the very top singers. I also heard that Frankie Laine had a very hiigh opinion of her voice.

    There must have been others.

She is credited with giving Bing Crosby his start. He admitted it, as well.

  • Doris Day, Lee Wiley, Rosemary Clooney were all Mildred fans.

Maxine Sullivan and Helen Humes considered her 2nd only to Ella as a swing singer,

  • Gorgeous Vid..5 stars ***** Well Done.
