Little is known about this "teen garage punker" by Children Of the Night titled "World Of Tears" other than it was released by Bella Records out of Old Saybrook, Connecticut in 1967. Regardless, it's a fun and interesting slab of youthful, primitive rock 'n roll. The song also appears on the "Psychedelic Disaster Whirl" compilation from 1986.

  • wheretofind?

  • Well, this is quite an obscure little number. You could try searching eBay for the original 45, but I'm gonna say that's going to be next to impossible to find. Slightly more reasonable, you could try to hunt down the excellent "Psychedelic Disaster Whirl" bootleg, a vinyl-only compilation released in 1986, but even that has gotten pretty hard to find these days. Other than that, I don't know of any other release it's featured on.

  • There was a band in Pleasanville, NJ (near AC) called The Children Of The Night. I saw them perform at a dance at Atlantic Community College around '68 or '69. They played a lot of Sargent Pepper's (Beatles) tunes. Are these those same guys?
