This copper "oreiller" (listening pillow) was created for an exhibition of artist-designed pillows titled PILLOW CULTURE (http://www.pillowculture.com). inspired by a patent filed in 1964 for a "listening pillow" (the original was designed to facilitate listening to music in stereo while lying on one's side), my apparatus was updated considerably to appeal to modern, nature-deprived audiences. The pillow is worn as a headpiece, with the tuft of copper wool serving as a conductor between the ear of the wearer and natural objects.
Ahhh a copper listening pillow!!! Beautiful, practical and who knows what one could hear while wearing one? The sound of the earth talking back, remonstrating with us to please, please be more kind!
