This is not a steadicam. Steadicam is a trademark, by the way. This is a stupid pendulum, for a very, very low quality (yet expensive) gadget. It's video quality doesn't even compare to a one you can get from a webcam.
The one idiotic video about "DIY iphone steadicam" started it all, no doubt. That guy got an iphone for free for that - a normal deal.
And hundreds of mentally handicapped wanabe-coolguys rushed to follow his totaly absurd mechanics. This is also very normal.

@wiibart Yeah, Im just surprised how such a cool phone has such a bad camera on it, ... compared to alot of cheaper phones out there. Anyway, good luck on your next project.

@BratvaTV i know, this is a 3G, i wanted to create a simple steadycam, but the framerate makes it very bad

sorry it looked like a joke, it looks terrible because of the low framerate. I will try to make another video with normal framerate

Hi Luke! Well I applied the basics of an steadicam. I used a paint stir stick and taped the iphone to it. Then on the other side I attached some batteries wich are somewhat the same weight of the iphone, this is important, you have to have equal weight.
Then you have to find the neutral rotation point. You can find that by holding it horizontal and make it balance on your finger. Use this neutral balance point to hold it when filming. I'm really curious what the video looks like with the 3GS
