This video is a response to a question about the power consumption of my server. I have an IBM xSeries 345 server in my garage and I have tested the power consumption for one hour. See the video for the results. Be sure to check out http://www.missionduke.com for my technology blog.

  • Also, how many processors and what speed did the server have?

  • @hid3nax I know for sure there is only one processor in this machine with room for two. I don't remember the speed of the processor. I might take a look at it this weekend. If I do I will get back to you.

  • Hello. Great video. How many SCSI HDDs did the server have at the moment when the test was performed? Thanks.

  • @hid3nax The server had six SCSI drives onboard.

  • @djrock9000 Thanks, would be great if you could look it up. I'm planning a power solution for similar server with similar setup. So that I could compare your processor's wattage to mine and take into account the calculating error.

  • @vankoperenNL The server has 6 SCSI drives. It has only 1 PSU but has the option for 2. This isn't the best server for efficiency as far as electricity goes but it gets the job done. Looks like somebody flagged your comment as spam for some reason too. Those trolls.
