Does the hole freeze over quickly afterwards? If not, it'd be a nasty trap for someone. Very interesting! We'd never see that sort of thing here.

One perch after a day out on the ice won't make much of a meal for two adults. Better stay out a little longer.
Locating, cutting and stripping the bark/limbs off a limb and whittling on it to fit the chisel head seems like more work than just carrying a pole out in the first place. : )
Nice video.

Hi! If you get a chance, could you please post a video for beginner ice fishermen? This one was too advanced for me. I'd go to Harvard and get a PhD. in astrophysics if I wanted to get that complicated.
For example, you totally skipped over how you got the red thing off your blue hole driller. I ice fished for two years before I figured that out. It was terribly frustrating, and frankly quite embarrassing.
Thank you.

ive done both too, but i think the hammer and screw drier is harder, because its not as big as a chissle

yea, all u need is your equipment, a flash lite or 2, and a nice lantern and your good to go
so what did people in the old days use for bait in the winter? small pieces of gut or somthing along those lines?

gut or something shiny. If you're jigging you can catch fish on something flashy. But they used to fish with nets before they were made illegal.
