My Dream Cast for Nicholas Sparks' Safe Haven

FYI this is all in fun. The official cast for the film has yet to be announced.

Anyways, I've always believed Bethany Joy Galeotti was perfectly suited for a Nicholas Sparks film ever since I watched The Notebook. Now that I've heard some recent buzz surrounding her name and this film I can't help but believe she would be great as Katie Feldman/Erin Tierney in the upcoming film "Safe Haven". So here's to hoping maybe one day we'll see Joy light up the big screen!

But of course Joy's not the only one I'd love to see cast in this film. Here's a list of the remaining stars I think would be great as well:

Chris Pine as Alex Wheatly
James Franco as Kevin Tierney
Kerri Russell as Jo/Carly Wheatly

For those of you haven't read the novel, here's a brief synopsis:

"When a mysterious young woman named Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie slowly begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family.

But even as Katie begins to fall in love, she struggles with the dark secret that still haunts and terrifies her . . . a past that set her on a fearful, shattering journey across the country, to the sheltered oasis of Southport. With Jo's empathic and stubborn support, Katie eventually realizes that she must choose between a life of transient safety and one of riskier rewards . . . and that in the darkest hour, love is the only true safe haven."

@longwood2011 I'll see what I can do! And wasn't the novel great? I loved it, and as much I feel like only Joy could do Katie's character justice especially after seeing her brilliant work on the 7th season of One Tree HIll with Haley's depression.

I like your choice for Alex but the entire time i was reading the book i definitely saw katie as Rachel McAdams the entire time! nobody else could play Katie in my eyes!!!

and I don't think he's too "nice" or anything, because obviously Katie had to be attracted to him enough to marry him. And if you've seen some of his previous movies, he can get pretty rough.
