Scalise highlights Obama's Solyndra Scandal

Congressman Scalise questions Jonathan Silver, Director of the Department of Energy loan programs office, and Jeffrey Zients, Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget at a Congressional hearing today. The hearing focused on the recent bankruptcy of Solyndra, a solar energy company that received a $535 million government stimulus check two years ago.

@Saebeck32 On that accelerated depreciation issue? DRUG companies can benefit from it, and have, when they persue research that fails to produce a useable product. ANY company can if they lose the production capacity of any large machinery due to lose. You see? It's just NOT GOOD ENOUGH to decry OIL COMP subsidies, without also acknowledging those subsidies can and are used by other than oil companies. NAME the subsidy and how much? NO GENERALIZATIONS please.

@Saebeck32 Interesting? Have you ever looked intop all those so called OIL COMPANY subsidies? I have. IN DEPTH. Turns out that they are NOT just oil company subsidies. But subsidies in kind that almost every company benefits from at one time or another. Like accelerated depreciation of oil leases that produce no product. YOUR TURN! NAME one subsidy that ONLY an oil comapny gets or can benefit from. JUST ONE and it has to be JUST an oil company?

And in talking, he's trying to find out why the White House, after approving this disastrous loan, also made it so Solyndra's investors would be paid back via bankruptcy BEFORE the taxpayers. The answer is that Solyndra's principal investors are Democratic Party contributors, and the Obama administration illegally allowed them to take precedence over us.

You should be thanking the Congressman rather than mocking him.
