It tickles me that people think this is not David. He has a gift, and it was evident at a very young age.

It is also evident that his parents made him sing alot of "bitch" songs from his young videos.They really should have toughened him up on song selection...maybe that's why he's gay.

Yes it's David. He was a chubby 11 year old and they played some of this video on Idol when he talked about singing for the Season 1 Idols. He looks about the same as in his first year of Star Search performances, most of which are here on YouTube. I especially love Fallin and I Surrender in those.

"And I Am Telling You" from the stage musical Dreamgirls Jennifer Hollidy had somewhat of a hit with this. She was on Broadway in Dreamgirls . Dreamgirls loosely based on the Supremes. Everybody sings like it Holliday .... from David to Jennifer Hudson etc.

Idol contestants don't get handouts. The winner gets a guaranteed recording contract. The others get nothing. If they were good they might get offered one or more record contracts because some company is willing to take a chance on them. Then they sink or swim on their own. They start out playing small clubs and try to work their way up. All Idol gave them was some visibility.

I used to have the same superstitions when AI first started up. Daughtry is by far my favorite winner, and he's sold millions of records and established himself and his band as one of the biggest names in rock. I don't judge people by where they came from or if they won a contest, I judge the music. That's what it's all about, and if you're going to base your opinion on them because of a show, then you're no better than the sniveling people or celebrities that judge their artistry off of
