  • God bless Canada's troops.

From a friend in the States.

  • Sgt. James Macneil, of Glace Bay, N.S., died Monday morning near the village of Nakhonay, about 20 kilometres southwest of Kandahar city. june21 2010

The 28-year-old was killed after dismounting from his armoured vehicle. Macneil was from the 2 Combat Engineer Regiment based at CFB Petawawa. He was serving with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group.

"We are all thinking of the family and friends of our Canadian fallen comrade during this sad time !

  • An amazing tribute..how could it not bring tears to your eyes? I too saw the CBC presentation on Remembrance Day and i saved it to my bookmarks. I wish I knew how to post it on here so that others could see it.

  • Very touching......much appreciated.

  • This played on CBC for the coverage of the Remembrance Day ceremony of Ottawa, I couldn't go to the cenotaph to see it for real because of the school, and I'm no longer in the Ottawa Childrens Choir who sings. I watched it after school over and over again and I was weeping, it's such a touching song. And the slideshow that matched was incredible.

    May they Rest in Peace.

  • John McDermott, it's a pleasure to have met you and know that you do all Canadians proud! This is a beautiful song that brings tears to my eyes EVERY time I hear it! God bless you and all those men and women who choose to protect me!

  • they played this at the Ottawa ceremony today, with a whole slideshow... it was rlly touching...

May God Bless All Our Heroes-Past and Present.

And God Bless Their Families and Friends.
