  • A homesick Texas girl used to sing this to her new baby (me) in the 50's. Dad a young second lieutenant was stationed in Japan and mom had never been out of Texas. I bet this is the version that first struck her fancy. Thanks for posting it

you can try finding it on rhapsody, itunes or zune (or other players) if they have it [I have rhapsody] or look @ your local library system- they may have the cd. [title- the real me] If i can get a hard copy I'll let you know... my mother has it on vinyl! good luck =)

  • Great!!!

  • Who needs a big band when you got this!!!

  • awesome. i havent heard in years thank you

  • I first heard this done by Patti Austin and I've been looking for that version ever since. She does it much faster, puts a jazz spin on it with a little soul rubbed in to give it flavor - it's an awesome version, if you find it please post it?!?!?

  • @SmashesMom -- Ask a Navaho. I'll bet it's one of their favorites. Sure.

  • Marvelous old song, thanks for posting!
