This video shows the full seat which is an all purpose balanced seat for all disciplines. English or Western. Balanced seat means that you are in sync with the horses balance as much as possible. The horse can perform at it's best and most athletic. No matter what you are doing. Communication maximizes as well as bracing and stiffness minimizing. A happier horse!

  • i ride western an we really dont ride with our legs forward... i am also trained in dressage. Right is right regardless of the discipline.. But i'm glad you pointed out how hunter riders often ride to forward.

  • @getgorgeousnow You are right. The well taught western riders ride nicely balanced just as is correct in any discipline. The Dressage foundation is useful for all diciplines as well. Thanks for your comment!

  • I am a western rider and work with a Centered Riding instructor and the 'correct' position you show is the 'correct' position that I'm told to be in... Works for all disciplines as far as I can see.

  • thats really interesting as i ride in the first position and was told by a "know it all" at my yard that i rode wrong and that i should ride as position 2!!thankyou!!i know im riding right now!!!
