Introducing T.R., my new sopranino ukulele. It's an Ohana made by:

...and is available from the inimitable MusicGuyMic:

Thanks again, deach! I'm fumigating the hat even as we speak.

This is a rather creepy kid's tune from near the turn of the *last* century.

I'm performing it in the key of Bm and in D tuning. You can find a pdf of this song at:

http://www.mediafire.com/?0djymb0zzmm

This is the first video I've ever used iMovie on (thanks to a loaner Mac laptop). Wonderfully easy to use... right until it comes time to export it into a usable format for YouTube. WTF was Jobs thinking?

Nonetheless, it's probably the best production value so far in my video attempts. Special thanks go to my housemate Gyan, for coming up with a tiny, European (complete with weird plug and transformer), halogen spotlight.

Now you have a clear view of my face, suitable for scaring your children into good behavior! Combine that with the creepy kid's song I'm doing and you'll be on the hook for years of expensive psychoanalysis.

Don't say I never gave you nothin'!

  • Loved every second of it!

  • @is2daytuesday thanks! it's one of my older videos but certainly the one that's gotten the most "airtime."

(I really *must* get around to adding it into my live show.)

  • Great sound on that Ukulele. Is it really that powerful?

  • @markocchionero sorry I missed this one, Mark.

yes, it really is and furthermore, this was recorded when I had it in D tuning. shortly afterwards I moved it up to F tuning (CFAD, a fourth above "standard") and it just barks like a big dog. I'm very happy with it.

  • Just enjoying this again - Great stuff, Howlin'~!

  • @MrJnobianchi thanks so much! I *really* need to practice this piece up and start featuring it in my live shows.

  • Great I want one too!

  • @WASTELANDelf thanks! I don't think so myself, but I'm not half shabby. ;-)

  • Howlin Hobbit you are a UKE MASTER!!!!!

  • @krabberscovers thanks! yeah, it's quite the ukulele, especially for being such a teensy little beastie. it barks loud enough (especially now that I've tuned it up to F) for me to use it outside busking.
