I do not know the guys but I would be willing to be the Vlog Brothers certainly would not want their branded nerd community to become cliquish and nasty to new people. Its fine to simply not focus on those who do not have as much in common with oneself at times, but it could also be that you are also missing out on new experiences if you do not reach out from time to time. I think the essence of the Vlog Brothers is intense curiosity about the world, a love of knowledge and a desire to share.

I totally agree -- the last thing the Nerd community needs is to become what it initially spawned the formation of Nerd friendly environments, namely Cliquish elitism. The sad fact is that whether you are talking Culture, counter culture or nerd fighter culture, there is that human tendency to create a pecking order. But I think a core Nerd ethos should be inclusiveness of all since many a nerd certainly should know what it is like to not fit in other social settings. nice vid.
