An NS SD70 leads an intermodal northbound through Lancing, TN. It passes the old grade crossing and a waiting freight led by a C40-9W. The great mixture of EMD 710 series engines and a K-5LA horn finishes the day off. The crest of this 1.25 percent grade is just up the curve.

  • Awesome train, but i don't like that horn.

  • The horn has a little bit of a overblowing problem I see. They do sound a little different on the SDs.

  • Sounds like the "smoker" K5LA's that were on the Amtraks, horn sounds like this caused from the exhaust being so close to the horn diaphrams are taken a beating.

  • Nice K5LA

  • When was the first EOTD installed? To me, the train doesn't seem same w/out the caboose.
