@WindRider707 Me and 3 other people lived in a grass house teepee for 2 months in the ozarks. It is quite comfortable if you have the knowledge and skills to do it, and the cooperation of others.

@WindRider707 wow you sang that? your good :) i will keep a look out for it. and yeah as for actually doing this, its very unlikely for a lot of reasons right now. its kinda just one of my many dreams. i hope i can do this someday though, i just probably wont be able to anytime soon. either way i will definitely try some of that pine tea with some of the ingredients you mentioned :) thanks for the tip.

I would have rugs on the ground, and make it all comfy...Lol...Rabbit cooking on the fire....This was cool thanks for sharing.....
i'm so fed up with now a day modern life. two storages home does not make me a happy person. tax, insurance, principle, interest and 30 years of slave to a greedy banks plus local government property tax.

pine tea? if i ever do this (although that is very unlikely for me right now) i will remember that because i love tea :) does it taste good? also what is the name of the song in the backgound i like it. i have wanted to live outdoors full time and i am thinking of either using a tent or tipi.

@PearlsofLife3 Hi pearls, it tastes...ok. Better if you have some yarrow, or sassafras, or mint and other yummy stuff, perhaps some syrup from birch sap, or maple. But it is good for you, more vitamin C than a lot of modern drinks. Tents ok, tipi great, tarp just fine. Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions! Thanks

@PearlsofLife3 also, the song is "The Best I can" by ...uh, me, Spencer. That one should be available for sale this fall. Thanks

How are you doing for the food? And the water, is there a creek nearby?
A nice trick is the dakota pit. Its a dug rocket stove that takes air from outside (dont take air through leaks in the tepee and no CO poisoning). Then you make an underground system of rocks to transfer heat on to your body. The dakota pit can burn whatever wood you like as it burns hot and quick with plentiful of oxygen sipped from outside. You can even make a tubular mud chimney that goes out of the shelter.

@Rhinoch8 - My bro adam would prob agree that he has come a long way since that winter years ago with his overall understanding of the tipi. He had been living in it for somewhere around a year perhaps at this point but also has the background of a seasoned outdoorsman. I love the heated rocks idea, I did that when I lived out in the woods, but I didn't build anything major just little lean to's. Springs close by :)
