Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force (PS2) Gameplay (Keyboard and Mouse play)

As you can see I'm playing the PS2 version of this game with a USB keyboard and mouse, and while that may seem like a great idea, the people responsible for porting this game over tot he PS2 really didn't optimize the Quake III engine to run smoothly on the system, so it chugs to almost unplayable levels when using the keyboard and mouse.

The only way to have this game maintain a remotely playable form is using the controller instead, and even then it still chugs. I will actually be uploading some gameplay using the controller later.

The bottom line is, get the PC version (which I haven't played, but have no doubt is far superior to the PS2 port) instead if you're interested in playing the only non mind numbingly boring Star Trek game out there.

However, if you're not a PC gamer, the PS2 version is a decent, but flawed experience. I bought it as more of a curiosity, but wouldn't mind trying the PC version someday.

@RockLeoneBeyblade It's only specific games that support it (I think five in total), but you can use a USB keyboard and mouse on the PS2.

Hello I saw your clip about working the keyboard and mouse on the PlayStation 2 .. I try to work my keyboard ( multimedia ) and mouse on the PlayStation 2 did not work ? Where is the problem ? Please give me the answer as soon as possible Because I suffering from a disease I can not play with PlayStation controller .. keyboard and mouse to play with them easier for me

Interesting; another rather implausible console port I didn't know about. I played the PC version of Elite Force and while the Arena engine obviously works great on a computer the game wasn't a very memorable shooter to begin with. The sequel looked a bit better but I vaguely remember disliking the story for some reason.
