@salsa838: Agreed. However, alankars are also an important aspect of the practice of Hindustani music. I hope you will agree that the 'sargam geet'/composition is in fact evoking of the mood of the Raga? Others have told me our rendition, while simple, presents the basic essence of Bhairav.

raga bhairva is an ancient raga associated with lord shiva.very very difficult to play or sing correctly.lots of do s and dont s are there.straight forward running up and down the scale is not correct bhairav.thats why its not much sung.it combines wonder,austere,sensual and by a good musician bhakti and surredder too are evocked.

@vidaripollen : You are correct that Bhairav is a difficult Raga to master. We are sharing here our simple steps at engaging with Bhairav. The 'sargam geet' or 'composition' that we sing is an evoking of the Raga from the Vishnupuri Gharana. Your interpretation might vary. Thanks for your comment.
