Polish/ french artist Roman Opalka exceeds the 4million.

Always amusing when someone uses all caps and is simply wrong.
According to his official website: 1931 Born in France to Polish parents. But perhaps his site is mistaken.

@2darbit According to an article in the Economist, he started out on black bakground and went to grey in 1968 and. From 1972 onwards, he added 1% white every year until the background. Towards the end, it was almost as white as the numbers.

It's like he's counting towards the end of the world.. like Richard Dreyfuss in Close Encounters. He kind of was. Rest his soul.

I love that he worked on white, complimenting his own photos. I read he did add some grey to the back ground ( on the canvas).
Sad that he's gone...

@MarlenaxD He was born 27th of August 1931 in Abbeville-Saint-Lucien. It's not in Poland - sorry.
