  • What a super guy. I walked into a show with my wife and he was standing outside (Twist & Shout, Bethesda, MD). I asked him to play Waltz Across Texas for me and my bride and he opened up with it on his next set.

  • Fabulous Sleepy !!!

  • This is one of the greatest things I've ever seen. That is all.

  • @john9944 he really does

  • Someone commented on one of my YT videos and they said I sounded like LaBeef from True Grit and it led me to this video.

I have never heard Sleepy LaBeef before today. This guy is BEAST!! Smooth, rythm, and style all wrapped up in one.

  • This is the title tune of one of the albums Sleepy made for Boston's Rounder label. I was there the day he wheeled from Massachusetts to New York for the show. He was driving a vintage 1950s Caddy. Sleepy LaBeef Larger Than Life, Twice as Loud and A Non Stop, Great Entertainer.

  • great voice, great guy!!

  • played with him 3 days straight ages ago in tokyo at opening or anniversary of opening of hard rock cafe, had a great time. great guy

  • I never thought Conan was funny but dammit, he gave airtime to music acts that would never get on TV otherwise. I saw Sleepy in NYC about ten years ago. Great show. Sat and chatted with him before the gig. What a nice man.

  • Screw Elvis, Sleepy's the King!!!

  • Well Sleepy stole The Boss's drummer. Max looks happy.

  • Cazwell, yes, this was at the Hey Hey Bar & Grill! He's been coming here for 20+ years.

This show was special, as his family (about 9 strong) drove up from Arkansas to surprise him. His wife Linda read some of the birthday congratulatory letters & emails. Adding to the fun, he had quite a few of us to sit in throughout the night.
