I sung an boy soprano part in this Compact mass with St Josephs boys Choir Hallswell, alongside the visiting Vienna Boys Choir in 1958 aged 12. in the Famous Cathedral in the Christchurch Square. Now obliterrated in the Quake. My old home town savaged. St Bedes colledge my Alma mata relatively unscathed. I remember the VBC members did breath traing lying down with bricks on their chests. We ate,played,slept and sung with them for 4 beautiful days.

@jeTROGIBBS It also affects me physically, jeTROGIBBS. Most of all, it gets to a place within my mental and physical being that brings me to an inner tearful, yet deeply calm, place. AKS IS one way to say it, for certain.
Singing it is a whole 'nother SWEET THING.

@Colorsofchaos Agnus Dei is one movement or song from the work Missa Brevis ("short/brief Mass"). Palestrina has written several movements called Agnus Dei, but they are different because they belong to different Mass settings. Same words, different music.

@nonnopirro52 thanks, but I can't understand that.

davvero commovente...
I was once a member of a church choir for a couple of days, and this is one of the things we sang.... I fell totally in love with it, and I have been trying, madly, but in vain, to find a recording of it SOMEWHERE. Thank you SO much for posting this!

I thank you.
I like very much Palestrina. It's always a pleasure for me sharing this music.
