Paws and Claws sold this dog

Paws and Claws pet store in Thunder Bay sold this pomeranian for $50 because it was no longer producing puppies. The dog spins in circles just like puppy mill dogs that are locked in cages for years. Paws and Claws staff didn't know if the dog was house-trained because they said it spent its life in a kennel. I hope they are out of business soon.

Very good point written67, she should have taken this dog from her friend then called the humane society and reported them for animal cruelty. But then she wouldn't have got her $50. I guess it all boils down to priorities and how much a person really loves dogs.

She also had a male and female doberman for sale on kijiji a year ago and the ad read something like 'sold with breeding rights, female just coming in to heat and ready to breed'. Some rescue program, she has some nerve comparing her irresponsible ways to anyone who helps to save animals.

Loretta wrote a post then deleted it. That post read "And the people who found this dog knew it came from the Pet store how? I can't believe the lengths you people go to... that dog did not come from paws and claws pet store"

A few posts later she wrote "I will take in any dog no questions asked...where else should the dog have gone...been put to sleep perhaps..... is that your tell all answer. We took her in , in hopes she would find a forever home....this is wrong on my part how?"

I hope this dog gets better also, though it will probably only happen if a qualified person takes the time to rehabilitate her. If Loretta's screening process was anything more than the "Got cash, get a dog" method she would have placed it appropriately.

Because people who work tirelessly with rescue dogs for usually only a few months can guarantee me a well-natured temperament and a good health check for years to come so that I know that the rescued animal will be superior to the product of a well established breeder and not snap from the possible abuse and neglect that they have endured for years from which they were "rescued"?

Can you give us the name of the well established breeder you're referring to? And please don't say Loretta. There are two very distinct differences between rescue dogs and "new" puppies bred for sale in a store. Rescue dogs are already here, already born, there is nothing that can be done about any genetic defect or health issue they might have other than to treat it if/when it surfaces. Breeding dogs without health testing produces dogs with health issues. Big difference.

I got a puppy from there she is fine and i love her to death she is a border collie shep mix and they are not bad people just bcause they got one dog like that dosent mean that theyare mad . Get a life

I hate to see dogs or any animal caged up unless there birds or other small animals that belong in caged, but dogs? That breaks my heart to see that! Shut this " contraption " down or should I say animal torture down! She needs to be put in jail for animal abusing! This is just cruel and I think she also needs to be put in a cage! See if she likes being caged up! If dogs don't get there exercise, they could die!

My mother dates Loretta's ex husband, we were over there looking at kittens and I have seen first hand the hundreds of dogs in cages from wall to ceiling in the basement. The reason she got her house out in the country is because outside city limit's there's no animal by laws on how many you can have. I have been listening to disgusting threats from this woman, take her down! Free those animals!
