The new 120-page graphic novel Dead Speed is the follow-up release from Ascend creators, Keith Arem and artist Christopher Shy. Featuring Michael Ironside, Yuri Lowenthal, and Nina Bergman, the dark action-thriller is set in the post-apocalyptic wastelands of Chicago, years after a devastating pandemic. Ex-convict, Darren Gray, is forced to survive in a brutal age of cannibalism, where he and his fellow Rippers require fast cars to retrieve healthy human organs for a surviving human Compound before they become the Undead. When Darren discovers a young girl who may be the key to ending the plague, he severs a secret alliance keeping the Undead forces at bay. Pursued by both the human survivors and the Undead armies, his life becomes a new fight for survival, depending on his skill and speed to keep himself alive.
