This time, Luis Sierra (http://twitter.com/chesa_trainer) creates a cut-only scene utilizing Final Cut Pro X. To work along with this tutorial on the same files, you can download those files from here: http://www.chesa.com/dropbox/FCP_X_Media.zip - the three video clips are in one zip file.

In this tutorial, Luis takes you through using three unedited clips of video footage and one audio file (not provided) with some trimming and importing to create a final project file that looks and feels like a dramatic chase scene in a movie. As you follow along, you can use the clips provided in the above link to replicate Luis's steps. Don't worry if your edited clips don't start and end at exactly the same points that you see in our tutorial, just use this exercise to practice creating an edited final product.

  • @JennaRieberger You can do it in several ways.Typically it all depends in how you prepared the shot. If you have the person against a solid background color, the you can use a keying effect in FCPX. If the person is in a typical shot, then a mask can be used in Motion to "cut" the person out and then placed over the other shot.

  • Is it possible to cut a person out of a video and paste it onto another video as if they were there? Or is that only on Sony Vegas Pro?
