@vnprado I hope you realize art in itself is always open to interprataion. My take on the song and what many others think of it is similar. M.I.A. grew up with money, ok and what?

negative stereotypes associated with immigrants (specifically though not exclusively to England). BTW i am an ENORMOUS clash fan who DESPISED her and the song that sampled one of my favorite clash songs. then, not being totally ignorant like some of you are, I took the time to listen to the song, critically think about what was really being said, and now have grown to like it. Strummer's saw the value of other humans and how we are all connected (see almost any interview for reference)

Note: REAL clash fans would know an issue close to Strummer's heart was the immigration experience (being an immigrant from Turkey). In fact, the song Straight from Hell almost completely deals with immigrants and their experiences. If you listen to MIA's original song, it should be taken as a satire on Westerner's views on immigrants (i.e. you westerners think all we immigrants want is to bang bang and take your money).
