Here is a guitar we are building. It is a Lion model made entirely from Korina - a 2 piece Korina back with a separate 2 piece Korina arch top. Pickups are BKP VH2 which do Van Halen tones to a tee (shame my playing doesn't).
Once again this guitar is pre-paint - so will look much prettier as soon as it goes through the paint-shop.
We are just giving it a final testing and I thought I would record the results.
This model will be finished in a transparent purple which should look fab. It is also kitted out with a Graphtech "Ghost" piezo bridge and preamp - allowing acoustic guitar tones (or a mix of electric and acoustic tones)
Finally at the end I pull out my Korina Flying Vee - finished a few years back - same timbers and pickups but with a finish on - you can tell to a small extent that the finish alters the tone a bit - for the better in my opinion - kind of smooths it out.
I was surprised at how well the Randall Recto module worked - seemed to lend something complimentary to the tone of a korina guitar that just works well.
Works fab for Scorpions & MSG tones as well - we'll save that for another day!
you read my mind. im redoing a custom shop bc rich gunslinger with the bare knuckle vh2 humbuckers and a ghost piezo too! except im using the floyd rose version.
