Detroit Lions move up to take Cal's Jahvid Best

The Detroit Lions boosted their offense with running back Jahvid Best late Thursday night during the first round of the NFL draft.

Detroit traded three picks to the Vikings for the 30th overall pick. The Lions shipped a second, fourth and one of their seventh-round picks to the Vikings to make the move up four spots to take Best.

Best, a 5-foot-10 running back out of California, possesses high-end speed and has explosive ability. Throughout his college career Best busted through for long runs. Thats something the Lions offense could rarely manage last season

The Lions have made quite an impressive set of selections from the Draft. Possibly the best in the last 5 years. We got Best, Suh, Stafford and Megatron all from Drafting.

If it wasnt for the Draft picks we got we would be sucking at the bottom of the league still. I was so happy when we picked up Stafford. That was when I knew we were on the right track.

the lions are on their way,gotta admit it,im not a fan,but 1 more draft and i think they can contend against anayone,johnson is a beast,so is suh,stafords gotta get some muscle in his shoulders so he doesnt get injured,and best just has to watch his health,theyre set man
