  • Pantomime is a great art, and there are many great actors among silent film stars. Ulanova was one of the greatest actresses ever - it's clear from every single scene with her. And why do you need to insult anyone?

  • Worst kind of Russian melodrama?Based on what? The world is subjective. There´s not such thing like worst or better, big or small. An Actor acts based on life, people are "weird" on life and so complex, our reactions are not the same on some specific situation,so, "god acting" should be based on the context and, again, the context could be interpreted in diferent ways. Sorry my english. My opinion, thats all.

  • all words on greatness are reduced to a whirling pile of junk in the in the presence of greatness....va savoir...

  • lol..

    wow,

    And-i-know-how-to-spell.

    Actors-actress..

    One-of-thosee-days.

    my-coment-was-posted-months-ago.

    Love-Shakespear?

    Yes-that-is-true.

    [spacebar-broken]

  • Intellectuals may argue that theatre is way more sufficient by content then ballet, I could agree in most part but when the genious of Ulanova comes on the stage...all the thoughts and comment vanish)))

  • well, it is natural because ballet is different art quite specific. The feeling of "golden" medium led Lavrovsky to concentrate on the notion and develop the scene phsycologically, emotionally, aesthetically but not in terms of interpretation of Shakespearian language. Shakespeare is the universe and we all know that but ballet is not the molded imprint of the play-it is the entity exisitng within enirely different system of beauty where dance, gesture, mimics is the expression not the word.

  • Don't you understand why people get nasty? It is because people have the feeling of beauty remainig and that your opinion is nothing but the blunt and pointless accusation of the greatest artists, I am not going to comment your mental capacities since your comment most eloquently says of that but the only thing I can say is that I am sorry...you will die without ever loving of being loved.

  • the word "actor " is not correctly spelled. It is amazing how bawd can give the utter of her opinion about the divine beauty

  • There are not only "bad actors', but the bad spectators too.

  • Exactly.

This scene has been done wonderfully by so many. But these two are just terrible. It's like watching actors from a silent movie - really bad pantomime.

But people get all antsy when you insult Ulanova - it's the same as when anybody says something critical about the overrated Fonteyn.
