Hi, my name is Santa Perez.

This video is my interpretation of what I can achieve, what I can do, in my life.

Since I was a child, I learned to speak up for myself. I learned that in spite of my disability, I was able to achieve many things, including competitive employment. This video will show just how far I have come.

I can have a B A in Psychology.
I can be a good advocate for me and others at the local, state and National level.
I can be the president of a statewide organization, People First of Nevada.
I can be a Council member of the governors Council of developmental disabilities and other committees.
I can be an author and write chapters and articles in books and newspapers.
I can use Morse Code to input my computer for Emailing, writing documents or communicating.
I can start my own Micro-enterprise, Santassayings.com.
I can own my own home.
I can be a good mom to my son.

  • I used to work with people with cognitive and physical disabilities. It was extremely rewarding and difficult - but in a way that betters the soul. Thanks for posting this.

  • it really is...some things you just have to be a part of before you can begin to understand them...and I would say knowing and working with people that have disabilities can never fully be explained, it has to be experienced...its eye opening and makes you really look hard at yourself and how you see the world...at least for me... ;D
