This starter is connected together with an incadescent-lamp in series. It is working like mad as there is nothing usefull to start.

  • sounds like an old telegraph lol

  • Wish I could find one with a broken contact just to have it constantly glow.

Would need a current limiter on it, otherwise it would be like a direct short circuit.

  • That's sorta pretty. How would you get it to glow constantly, if its possible>

  • I'm sure it would explode if connected directly to mains and not through the incandescent lamp! I've done that with NE2 neon bulbs directly into a receptacle-POOF!!

  • Japanese fluorescent starters are always made to display the Argon glow. They are in transparent or transluscent screw base cannisters.

  • Great vid, this doesn't seem to be a bad starter looking at the amount of sparking. Some cheap starters I have make big bright sparks when the contacts open and blacken the glow bottle very quickly.
