Tazo, northern sea otter pup, was found orphaned in Homer, Alaska. He was rehabilitated at the Alaska SeaLife Center with and on August 5th was transferred to his new home at the New York Aquarium via a FedEx cargo plane. Two NY Aquarium staff members accompanied Tazo on the flight to the Big Apple, where he arrived safely the next morning.
The Alaska SeaLife Center's Stranding & Rehabilitation program admits otters with the authorization of U.S. Fish and Wildlife (USFW).
