DESCRIPTION:
Prototype of a bolt action sniper rifle in .300 WinMag. Bolt way 20mm shorter compared to a german military G22 (Accuracy International) same caliber.
Maximum feeding reliability. Bullets don't have contact to any part of the weapon while feeding. So bullets won't get damaged, scratched a.s.o. Proof: You can cycle empty shells through the rifle.
Small ejection port - not longer and wider than the cartridge case itself - for maximum strength of the receiver.
Multi purpose switch right in front of the trigger. If you put your trigger finger to the trigger it will be operated automatically. If you remove your finger from the trigger to the safe position the switch will be operated again with the same move.
Can be used to turn on/off electrical equipment e.g. signaling ready to fire status. So you can use this signal switch without even touching the trigger. There are other systems that require to pull the trigger partially... and than stay in this modus for a while. Not very safe and comfortable.
Additionally serves as a sear blocking safety when not activated and blocks the mag catch when activated. So you can easily insert/remove the magazine but it won't come off under recoil.
And as ken0is0gay0fan0club proposed here it could be used as an integrated gun lock as well.
Personally I have a low opinion of gun locks esp. integrated ones. But they are required in some places.
The idea for such a switch came up while talking to some SWAT snipers.
At that time I was upgrading their PGM Ultima ratio rifles with an electronic switch that would indicate the ready to fire (possibility to shoot) status when partially engaging and staying on the trigger - they were used to do so with their HK PSG1 rifles (MKS - Melde- und Kontrollsystem). One of them had to stay like this during a mission for about an hour before he got the O.K.
I consider this a very unsafe and risky method and there this idea was born.
Due to the german gun law it's a non-shooting gun. Only a gunsmith is allowed to build firearms here or machine main gun parts (barrel, bolt/slide, frame). So this rifle is not able to chamber a live cartridge or a similar dummy. You can't close the bolt completely with a round in front of (watch last round).
Because of some questions I received - yes you can screw off the bolt handle and install it reverse (for lefties like me).

A little too cluttered for me...
Try to chamber an empty shell at a Mauser 98 rifle. Catches against the feed ramp:
