I'm an architect with many years of practice in yhis field and am familiar with surveys of existing structures as well as with new constructions. I have never eoncounter a person that mixed metric with British systems. What schoked me though was when my colleague in US stated that metric system is insane as 2x4 stud in metric gives some crazy numbers. As you know 2x4 is 1.5x3.5 :-). So NASA works in metric system but the psychopaths keep the British units in US for the purpose, in my opinion.

He got arrested for stealing a very expensive hydraulic jack-hammer from the back of another contractor's truck on a site. He vanished after that.
They are fantastic at devising original scams and schemes - that's it really.

That story is indeed very bizarre, and also very funny because it's so obvious. I doubt he could ever get hired. Do you know what happened next? Did he ever get a job of any kind within the business? Could be fun to see some of his other "projects" Yeah, well, there are really some strange and moronic people out there, whoa! Haha.
About originality - I'm not sure I agree with you, Thomas. - But I'll finish reading your book before I go more into it. Then perhaps we can exchange some thoughts.
