  • @DCATPYEO Haha you do know Ives wrote it like that to mock bands who actually play like that right?

  • @goduxgo Yes. There is a really good recording of the military band playing this tune, and they intentionally leave off the stinger. It was actually put in because the publisher didn't think that the sax ending was "marketable" lol.

  • This conductor is amazing, he is world class.

  • 3:19 to 3:24 - Love how the rhythm just comes to a standstill at that part almost like it cancels itself out.

  • Hope this was as much fun to perform as it was to hear. Must've been tough going at rehearsals. Wonder if Carl Stalling was influenced by Ives....

  • I missed the stinger, but I believe that Ives probably liked it better without it!
