Many good scholars believe that there is missing period of time between verses one and two of Genesis chapter 1. This has given rise to the theory that the universe became formless and void due to the angelic rebellion. This is a plausible scenario considering the description from Isaiah that says God did not create the earth formless or in vain. Whether verse two is simply describing the unarranged matter that God arranges during the 6 intervals that follow or whether God is restoring the wreckage of the angelic rebellion is speculative. Yet considering that we are told in Ezekiel 28 that Satan was a blameless guardian cherub in what appears to be a pre-Adamic Eden - I think the Bible points to a long interval in which the angels inhabited the earth. When I consider the context of the entire Bible humanity seems to be Gods way of proving a point to the angels.

Here is great scholarly resource on the Gap Theory::

  • Thanks! Very good theory, i had no idea that few words in hebrew instead would reveal more clues about our beloved Lord. God bless you all

  • ... so as a christian watching this I have only the following to say...

    /tinfoil hat.

  • @gregrutz I believe the Earth is not millions of years old, but a few billion, in fact. :D I believe people can be led astray from their original belief over periods of tens of thousands of years. Look at these other cultures that speak of a flood demolishing all of humanity... they're all flawed except for the Biblical model of the local flood :P

  • @angryspidertv The earth is old, millions of years old. And there was never a flood that killed everyone but 8 people. Ask the Chinese or early Egyptians.

  • @gregrutz So the Earth WAS old. There are many verses to show the flood was not global... a global flood as we know it would be impossible. However the evidence shows the flood was regional. I don't understand how the Bible's been disproven X)

  • @gregrutz your first incorrect assumption is that the Bible teaches a young earth.t. Tell me these don't refer to the big bang:

    - Isaiah 40:22, 42:5, 42:5,45:12, 48:13, 51:13, Jeremiah 10:12, 51:15, Job 9:8,26:7, 37:18, Psalms 18:9,104:2, 144:5, 2 Samuel 22:10,

It speaks of a thick atmosphere: "I made a cloud its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band" Job 38

Gen 1 says: ...and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.

  • @angryspidertv The bible does not speak of the big bang or a thick atmosphere.

It does say there was a global flood with is WRONG.

  • @angryspidertv The bible is proven wrong by science. The earth is old, there was no global flood.

  • @loly1969 Haha... you're using the ancient greeks, which we all KNOW were wrong, they didn't have the technology we have. The Bible speaks of the Big Bang at least 17 times... I know you deny the Big Bang, which is a BIG mistake on your behalf.

  • @loly1969 The BB theory is sufficient evidence for a creator.
