Doesn't cover post production, doesn't cover the people needed, doesn't cover anything. AND he basically has to put his actual paying job on hold while he does this. So in a sense he's jobless at the point he starts working on this movie. I could go on with actual figures and costs all day. Shit, right now I'm downloading images for a couple videos for a University. I burned through $800 in an hour, and I'm about $200 short. Everything costs money. You underestimate the costs.

@JugularX Your previous point was littered with insults for no reason. I was just following suit. My point was that he doesn't make enough money to fund his own movie, and I understand the costs of production/post production involved. A decent film-esq camera is around $20,000. If you wanted to save money you could get a good DSLR (Canon 5D Mark II is what I use) for $3000. That doesn't include lenses which range from $800 to $3000. It also doesn't cover audio.
