Sry didn't really like Te video a whole lot... Way too much for what you need... Just run it on a few AA with half the size... As for the dude who says 9 volts is too much it's actually the opposite, u need 12 volts to run the car adapter (it has a regulator on it dropping it to either the 5.5 for an iPhone or 3.7 for other phones)

@cameraguy98 9 volts is too much to charge a phone with. The batteries you are using are each 1.5 volts, and for those 4 equal 6 volts. Cell phones regularly charge at 3-5 volts. Also, solar cells are pretty inexpensive if you get the cheap kind.

@cameraguy98 I just got a new camera so I will show what I have so far. it's a school project so it's moving slowly but it will be done soon. The batteries are...
one 7Amp 12 volt gel cell deep cycle battery and a 8 amp to go with it. they are going to be hooked up in parallel for 15amps all together it will have a 400watt inverter DC to AC with a USB charger port and a EXT cigarette lighter for powering air compresses and cell phones and charging the unit its self. sorry about rag chewing ..

how is that an emergency charger if yo have to go and find an electronic shop and buy parts to make something that you can't or carry around with you.
Isnt it mush more sensible to spend whatever money you spend on this to buy a charger? or just batteries and connect them to the phone battery if you are in the wild?

@abuladula
it isn't for travel in the wild, it is for at home, and you can use smaller batteries if you want, then it can be carried, and with 8 AA batteries i got 2 full charges (won't turn on to full charge) with an I-touch

three things. you could have used a 9 volt battery (a lot smaller) ..... you could have used solar cell. ( all the power you could ever get ) or you could have used a 9 volt rechargeable battery with solar cells so u can get never ending power.

i thought of using a solar cell, but i didn't have the money... and i had to scrap the battery pack for another project. but as far as the 9v, i don't think that would give you enough volts to charge a phone, even if it did, it wouldn't last for days like i needed it to... though you are welcome to try it
