Extraordinary Freakbeat classic from the 60's produced by Joe Meek.Hold on to your hats;the guitar break by Ray Fenwick 1 and a quarter minutes in is possibly the greatest in rock history!

  • Just sold for £590.00 on ebay-I was £583.80 short as that's all I could afford!

  • Just to remind everyone that 'Crawdaddy' is now available on a recently released CD compliation,'THE WEEKEND STARTS HERE!',an indication that the song is gaining in reputation.About time too!!

  • giving freakbeat airtime would not only be risky to radio, it would also put pressure on the listener to actually listen to the f***ing music and lyrics. with the odd exception, radio stations air nothing more than background shite, and if they dared to air a song such as this, they run the risk of the listeners demanding more....AND THAT IS NOT FINANCIALLY VIABLE. RADIO IS DEAD COS IT LACKS SOUL, GUTS AND THE VERY LIFEBLOOD OF A RADIO STATIONS VERY PURPOSE... IT LACKS GREAT MUSIC.

  • Couldn't agree more! It's amazing how many GREAT 60's songs never have seen the light of day on the radio. And the guitar work back then blows away anything seen today!

  • F*cking Epic !!!!

  • I knew the vocalist about ten years ago. Johnny Lamb (2nd from right). He co-owned a pub I frequented at that time off the Strand. He sang the 'A'-side as well. Nice bloke.

  • @rugshort True True, Joe Meek may never be surpassed

  • @littlexine It so bugs me how the Horrors screw the song.

  • @TheHunty2010 I get annoyed with the Horrors because they go into the song too early and the singer and the whole band are confused and miss their cue.

  • @Widleykidz And played wrong.

  • top notch example of freakbeat

  • And it was on the B side...
