Marcus Hobbs - I Love You

Meaning:

This song is about that life long friend that we all have and need, it takes the listener on a journey from the friends perspective of looking after a person just as they have split up from a bad relationship right through to when the person is getting back on their feet and becoming their self again.

When and Why It Was Written:

I wrote this track in around 30 mins including guitar riff and vocals, i just seemed to pluck it out of thin air and once i started writing it just came to me. I wrote it after making a conscious choice not to try and force myself into a horrible place in order to write a deep yet depressing song but instead to focus on what i was feeling at that exact moment.

How It Was Recorded:

I recorded the guitar part first in one take and then simply recorded the vocals over it in a second take, i recorded it this way because I use an audio interface with two XLR inputs and when recording the guitar they are both used due to using a DI and a super cardioid condenser mic to get the best sound but unfortunately there is no way of recording my vocals as my microphone requires phantom power.
