Joe Ely, a member of the Texas band The Flatlanders, played a solo set with Joel Guzman at the Tribeca R&R Club in NYC and I was fortunate enough to be there to capture the moment. Joe Ely rocks.

Doctherooster (what a great nic!) if you had been there, you would have witnessed one of the best performances ever by Ely. It was one of those rare magical nights when the performer and the audience are just bouncing energy off of each other.

I think i captured some of that in this short video and will be forever glad i was able to film it and have it to view again and again.

One of Joe Ely's fans should post his version of "The Road Goes on Forever" from his Love and Danger album--far and away the best version of the song I've heard.

Thanks, but that's only a portion of the song, and the audio quality is poor. If you get a chance, listen to the cut on Love and Danger. It's a knockout--a true work of musical art.

That Ely-Guzman combo is about as powerful as you can get. Ely has captured the true essence of "Where is my Love?" better than he's ever done it before.  Thanks for posting this.
