Brilliant, a 500 million pound sophisticated & technologically advanced robot that looks like it was designed to give hand jobs.

Still, I could probably put a wig on it, smear some lipstick across it's face and change it's voice to Microsoft Vicky, and have a whale of a time.

there is no advance in this type of crap. cure for aids/cancer should have been first priority with the amount of money used to build that heap.

Hardly. Computers are the basis of any kind of practical robot. In that sense, any success a robot has is a success for computers too. They will both boom.

Why build a robot to do something you could just do with a human?

Really?

The point wasn't to just play Rock Paper Scissors, but to exhibit and test the functioning of the robot. RPS would test not only the motor functions of the robot, but sensory functions and reasoning functions. It was able to play RPS, and sense the outcome of each round.

The future of R/P/S is looking a little... odd.
