Self-proclaimed "ghetto representatives" from Washington, D.C., MCs Po, Montana, and Midnight would rather be known as "reality rappers" rather than for glorifying the gangsta lifestyle through their project Section 8. Retelling the stories of their urban surroundings through their 1993 debut EP, Then & Now, Solar Records took notice and released Section 8's self-titled full-length in 1994 followed by 1995's No Love album. However, it wasn't until 1998 when Tommy Boy signed a deal and put out the "Repercussions" single, followed by 1999's Guilty by Association.
