Lament / Dirge - Mary Shelley

Mary Shelly was waiting in that cold dump Villa Magni on the sea by San Terenzo, which she couldn't stand anymore, and in which she almost died. She was awaiting her husband Percy Bysshe Shelley to come back from a short trip. He went to Pisa and Leghorn (Livorno) by sea with his new schooner originally called Don Juan and which he renamed Ariel. In Livorno Percy discussed with Byron and Leigh Hunt the launch of a radical magazine called The Liberal. On 8 July, he and Edward Williams set out on the return journey with their eighteen-year-old boatboy, Charles Vivian. They never reached their destination.

@dinorocks231 Hi, try searching for "Mary Shelley Dirge" in Google Books. Can't remember exactly how I located it, but I remember I had to copy it letter by letter from one of those roughly scanned pages. For example, in "Mary Shelley in her times" by Betty T. Bennett,Stuart Curran - pag 180 (181 missing) 182, you'll find some extracts of an earlier (or later?) version. Bye
