Hello reading people...

When I originally put this video together I didn't fully realise until now how (allegedly) Dragonforce had asked Ben Daglish the original composer of the classic Commodore 64 game music to the game The Last Ninja, for permission to use a bit of his music in their song "Valley of The Damned". I have also read that he was given 10% of the royalties to said song. Anyway, I can't fully confirm this but there is some info about it online on various sites so there you go. Below this is the original text I typed when I first posted this vid a couple of months back, telling about when I first heard the bit of the Last Ninja music that DF used. Carry on reading if you want, if you don't then don't bother ;) Cheers!
_______________________________________

The First Time I heard Dragonforce's song "Revelations" from their "Valley Of The Damned album, a certain part made me sit up and hit the rewind button, because that certain part was a whole chunk which was clearly a blatant ripoff of the classic Commodore 64 tune "Wastelands - Ingame" from the classic game "The Last Ninja".

The music in said game was written by the legendary composers Ben Daglish and Anthony Lees, two of the very best and most talented musicians from the C64 game scene, and their music from "The Last Ninja" is some of the best music EVER in computer/video game history, not just Commodore 64 game music history.

Here's a little bit of Commodore 64 info for anyone that's new to it all, that might be reading this that's interested...

The Commodore 64 had contained within it's chunky beige loveliness, an amazing sound chip which is named SID (Sound Interface Device) And this chip is THE best sound/music chip EVER in 8 bit computing history, and still has a massive cult following to this very day. The SID chip is basically a synthesizer in itself, and can actually hold it's own up against some of the best modern synths of today, with the powerful sounds it can produce. There are bands out there that actually use the SID in their music, one of my faves being "Machinae Supremacy". They could be described as a SID Metal band with their style, using the usual guitars, bass, and drums, but with the SID doing it's powerful thing in the mix too, AND they even play live taking that amazing sound on the road with them, they must surely be one of the most unique and talented bands around and I recommend you check 'em out if you haven't already.

Anyway there's some info for you, watch the vid and hear the music, and realise how a big name Metal band can get away with being a bunch of cheeky buggers, by nicking bits of Commodore 64 game music from the 80's...Naughty Dragonforce...TSK TSK ;)
