Celebrities ... we want to look like them, we want to talk like them, and we want to dress like them. Working with numerous top celebrities and stylists helping them to accessorize with jewelry for awards shows, appearances and premiers, Jewelry & Style Expert, Michael O'Connor knows fashion. He knows the latest trends and the key to dressing up the simplest outfit to a level of sophistication and style.

From engagement rings to earrings, celebrities are choosing platinum for its purity, rarity, durability and quality. Platinum, a naturally white metal is hypoallergenic, eliminating the possibility of itching, swelling and discomfort -- which speaks in volumes for celebrities on the red carpet of one less thing to worry about as the flashbulbs pop around them!

  • Its true that Platinum develops a "patina" which tends to look more like a bright glow than a mirror finish. Availability and demand for a product determine price. Did you know that if you put all the platinum on earth in an Olympic pool, it wouldn't even reach your ankles? Its rarity combined with its purity (95% compared to 18k Gold which is only 75% gold) and the fact that platinum never needs to be re-plated like gold (gold loses metal when scratched, plat dosnt) make it clearly superior.

  • Platinum does indeed hold its finish and will stand the test of time. if it scratches (like all precious metals can) it can simply and easily be cleaned/polished back to its original state. besides, when it "dulls" it actually takes on a great patina which is very beautiful.

  • platinum does not hold a finish. it will be dull in a week. do not be fooled, platinum is a GREAT gimmick to boost the price of jewelry.
